How We Started
Dedicated to Quality Training Since 2013
Colorado Tactics has been in business in Colorado since 2013. Our mantra is “Slow is smooth… and smooth is fast” which means that if you practice safely and with repetition your speed will naturally improve. Founded by John Rader, Colorado Tactics prides itself on not taking shortcuts when it comes to training.
John started his education in firearms as many individuals do when he was just a boy learning to use a BB gun and then eventually transitioned into hunting. Born in Oklahoma City and later moved to Ulysses Kansas where hunting pheasants and small game was one of his favorite pastimes. After John graduated high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and that is where his passion for firearms and training in firearms education took off. He enlisted, served 10 years in the infantry, and was discharged honorably from service as a Sergeant.

Colorado Tactics is training only — we are not a range and we do not sell firearms. Instruction is all we do, and every class is taught by John Rader personally.
Our mantra is “Slow is smooth… and smooth is fast.” Practice something correctly enough times and speed arrives on its own. Chase speed first and you build habits that fail under stress. That is why we do not take shortcuts, and why classes run long enough to actually cover the material.
Every class is listed with what it costs — no quotes, no “call for pricing.” Call and we will tell you which one you actually need, including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
Nobody gets rushed and nobody gets left behind. There are no dumb questions on our line.
